Being a licensed electrician, like anyone in the trade, I've spent plenty of time on a job stopping to flip through the Code book — or double-checking a rule I thought I knew.
The answer is always in there somewhere. It's just spread across thousands of pages, tables and amendments, and it takes time to find. So I started building something to help me look things up faster: ask in plain language, get the rule, the calculation or the table value back in seconds.
It turned into Vince. It's trained on the latest Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and it's meant to be a second set of eyes — not a replacement for your own judgment or your licence. You still make the call; Vince just helps you check it.
Right now Vince covers Ontario. The Canadian Electrical Code and the U.S. National Electrical Code are on the way, so more of us can work the same way.
