Getting started
Vince is an AI assistant built for Ontario electricians. You can ask it Ontario Electrical Safety Code questions in plain language, and it runs deterministic code calculations — service and feeder loads, conduit fill, ampacity, voltage drop, transformer sizing, and burial depth — and shows its work.
It also surfaces the current amendments and relevant ESA bulletins, so you don't miss what's changed.
Licensed electricians, apprentices, contractors, and inspectors working in Ontario. It's a fast reference and calculation tool for the field, the truck, and the estimating desk.

Vince for Business
Yes. A business account puts your crew under one organization that you manage as the owner. You add electricians and apprentices as members, and everyone gets the full Vince. Plans come in three sizes — up to 10, 25, or 80 people. Pricing is shown at checkout.
Just the owner. You enter one card and cover the whole crew — members never enter payment details. Your crew shares a monthly question pool that everyone draws from — 600, 1,250, or 3,200 questions per billing period depending on your plan size — and you can buy top-ups anytime if you need more before it resets.
No. As the owner you can see who's on your crew, their role, whether they've verified their account, when they were last active, and how many questions they've used this period. You don't see their actual questions, Vince's answers, their chat history, or their saved work. What your crew asks Vince stays private to them.
Steps
- Go to getvince.ca and tap Start free trial.
- Choose the Business account type and pick your plan size.
- Enter your email, choose a password, and accept the Terms and Privacy Policy.
- Verify your email, then start your 14-day business trial (a card is collected to begin).
- From your business dashboard, invite members by email.
Open the chat menu and go to Business to reach your owner dashboard. There you can invite new members by email (up to your plan's seat limit) and remove members you no longer need. Invited members set their own password and get to work.
Not on your own just yet — there isn't a self-serve switch from an individual account to a business account at the moment. Email support@getvince.ca and we'll help you get set up.
Using Vince
Ask in plain language. A few examples:
- "What's the minimum burial depth for a service in PVC under a driveway?"
- "Single dwelling load calc: 200 m², 12 kW range, 5 kW dryer, baseboard heat."
- "How many #12 RW90 fit in 3/4" EMT?"
- "Ampacity of #2 copper at 75°C."
- "Service size for a 12-unit apartment building."
Calculations come back as a worked result you can paste into your notes.
Steps
- Open the menu (top-left).
- Tap Save this chat and give it a name.
- Find it later under My jobs.
Yes. Your current chat follows you across devices and survives signing out — so you can start a question on your phone and pick it up on your laptop. It stays until you save it, start a new chat, or reach the per-chat limit.
Yes — you can attach a PDF (for example, a spec sheet) to a question. Use the attach button in the chat input.

Accuracy & scope
Vince works with the current Ontario Electrical Safety Code, including the current amendments and relevant ESA bulletins. Where a bulletin changes a rule, Vince answers with the bulletin value and flags the difference.
Right now Vince is built for the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. Support for the Canadian Electrical Code — used across the other provinces, starting with Alberta — and the U.S. National Electrical Code is coming. Want to know the moment a new code goes live? Join our mailing list at the bottom of the home page.
No. Vince is a fast reference and calculation aid — not a replacement for the published code, your own judgment, or an inspector. You're responsible for verifying any answer against the current code, and your local inspector and the ESA have final authority on any installation.
No. Vince is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the ESA, CSA, or any employer or authority.
Your questions and Vince's answers are processed to run the service and aren't sold to anyone. Your queries are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate responses — and under our agreement with them, your content is not used to train their AI models. Your account data, conversations, and saved work are stored on servers in Canada. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
Loads, conduit fill, ampacity, and the rest run through dedicated calculation engines built on the OESC rules — not improvised. Vince shows the worked steps so you can check the inputs and the math against the code.
Troubleshooting
Try this
- Check your spam / junk folder.
- Give it a few minutes — delivery can lag.
- Confirm you used the right email address.
- Request the email again.
- Still nothing? Email support@getvince.ca.
An unsaved chat locks after a set number of questions to keep things tidy. To keep going, save the chat (menu → Save this chat) or start a fresh one (menu → New chat).
Try this
- Double-check your email spelling and that Caps Lock is off.
- Use Forgot password if you're unsure of your password.
- After several failed attempts you'll be briefly locked out — wait about 15 minutes and try again.
First, re-check the inputs Vince used — a missing rating or the wrong occupancy type can change the answer. Always verify against the current code and, where it matters, your inspector. If you think something's genuinely wrong, send it to us using the in-chat feedback so we can look at it.
Open the menu → Send feedback. It comes straight to us. For account or billing issues, email support@getvince.ca.
Join our mailing list — there's a sign-up box at the bottom of the home page. We send the occasional update on new provinces, codes, and features. No spam.
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom — one click and you're off the list, no login needed. (Account and billing emails, like password resets and payment notices, are still sent as needed.)
